biography
Luc’s born in a hardworking family with a poultry company. As a kid, he playes soccer (after school) during the day & watches old movies on his small, black and white tv at night. As he grows up in his teens, so does his ambition in sports and learning new trades.
In 2000, Luc’s asked to do a runway course for a fancy men’s store. Full of pimples and a stack of holiday pictures (together with his mum), he tries his best between established models with international portfolio’s. The first contender has “oranges under his armpits”, “No”, the next one “jumped while walking”, “Next..”. Pushing his arms against his body and staying low to the floor, Luc’s accepted in the course and soon starts teaching runway to young men in Holland after that. In the meantime, Luc graduates his Bachelor degree in Communication & studies Real Estate. Thousands of catwalk shows and a bunch of photoshoots & commercials later, Luc starts expanding to Milan, Paris, Munich, Hamburg, London, China, South Africa & New York. It’s his roommate & photographer Tim Francis in the Big Apple, that advises Luc to start training as an actor in Los Angeles, because Luc’s still watching at least a movie per day.
Important to know, Luc always had speech issues as a kid. When nervous or shy, he spoke too fast and soft. His fear of talking in front of people doesn’t match his passion for telling stories though. He takes the first flight in 2007 to the City of Stars to study at different acting schools like The Acting Corps, X Repertory Theater, Adele Cabot’s, Richard Lawson Studio, Spencer Jones Improv, Ivana Chubbuck,..
For 11 years, he works hard to get his American working visa, training for 3 months in Los angeles, working day & night for a couple of weeks in Europe and back to Los angeles. After this decade, Luc and his Brazilian girlfriend Angélica move to Los Angeles completely, but the passion for film vanishes under the expensive city life. luc’s working in construction, catering, a restaurant, Uber,.. to make ends meet & not being able to do auditions. In the meantime, luc’s dad nico needs heart surgery and someone to run the shop. The couple needs to return to Belgium, but decide to sell their car, piano and everything they don’t need, to make their dream come true, make a festival short film in California, called ‘Manolita’.
One of Luc’s teachers Aaron Ganz made him promise to make life memorable, so Luc called his production company ‘memorabile pictures’. Manolita wins the Mexico International Film Festival, is screened at Cannes, Salento International Film Festival & Calcutta International Cult Film Festival. Making his dreams come true of telling stories is such a privilege, that luc also wants to give back with every film project, so his charity organization ‘cherry tea’ is born. In Manolita’s case, Luc & his team supported Maryvale, the first orphanage in LA, with their proceeds.
Luc & Angélica move back to his home country, take over the poultry shop & get married. Angélica still models internationally, luc also keeps training at the Acting Studio Brussels with coach Kevin van Doorslaer, gathered an A-team around him with acting technique teacher Aaron Ganz (actingclassdaily.com), accent coach Clotilde Delavennat, voice & singing teacher Geeta Novotny, yoga instructor & mentor Sarah Spranghers and personal coach Diebrecht van Briel from Dpointgym.
With his passion for film & car racing, luc’s writing, producing, directing & starring in his first feature film ‘La Course’, about the life of the french formula 1 driver François Cevert. Part of the proceeds will go to a Cevert-Beltoise museum & Jackie Stewart’s ‘Race Against Dementia’.
His purpose is to keep improving himself, living for his passion, love & freedom to create.
